Claire Erica (1971) is a self-taught contemporary realist painter living and working in Matakana New Zealand.
Born to English parents and growing up in South Africa, she arrived in New Zealand 20 years ago. The award-winning artist is distinguished by her meticulous attention to detail and unique painting style, which seamlessly blends traditional techniques with contemporary flair. Drawing ongoing inspiration from personal photographic observations of New Zealand's natural environment, Claire passionately captures the intricate details and essence of the country's wild birds, utilizing a diverse range of environmentally conscious mediums, including archival cotton canvas meticulously prepared to accommodate her fine, detailed brushstrokes.
