Jill has won many awards and she has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand, she has also travelled extensively throughout the country, photographing the landscape for potential paintings.
In 2006, Jill featured in the book “New Zealand’s Favourite Artists”. Her work has also appeared in calendars and coloured plates for books.
Artwork and Inspiration
Many of Jill’s paintings focus on familiar Auckland’s West coast beaches where the Perrott family spent a lot of leisure time exploring the area and holidaying at their Piha bach. Jill has always been fascinated with the unique characteristics of the west coast with its rugged bluffs and wild moods. The landscapes she paints are often void of human activity which emphasises the untouched natural state of the landscape.
Jill works from her studio in Titirangi, Auckland where views over the Manukau Harbour are a constant inspiration.
Jill continues to experiment with various mediums and has developed her own unique style employing a variety of compounds which are applied to the canvas to create a textured look which captures perfectly the rugged landscapes she paints.
Examples of Jill’s authentic artwork available for hire and can be viewed at Mobile Art Gallery, 23 Edwin Street, Mt Eden, Auckland.
