Art and inspiration Image of Annie

Through Annie’s interest in culture and hybridisation, her paintings are masterful harmonies and dynamic abstractions. Floral forms are abstracted through Annie’s visual vocabulary, combining organic and geometric forms.

Annie’s compositional skill is obvious through her sophisticated use of colour and shape, creating assemblages of abstractions that overlap dynamically on the picture plane, resulting in a non-prescriptive study of form and colour.

The mixture of semi-recognizable shapes help us as viewers see the other shapes in her paintings not as random or abstract, rather to consider them as an interpretation of the original object or in this case, piece of nature.

As a print maker Annie is accustomed to looking at the world as individual shapes which come together on the surface, making her paintings not only a hybrid of visual vocabulary but of her skill and passions for creating art.
